EARLY AUTUMN IN THE COUNTRY

c.1890 on genuine canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher

What a delight. We believe it was originally executed (oil paint on academy board) by an anonymous artist working in Illinois. This wonderful scene has a lot going for it. It shows the farm stead with home, barns, sheds, root cellar, folky fall colored trees, loaded fruit trees, colorful honey bee hives, a Halliday Standard windmill, cows in the pasture, chickens feeding in the yard, wife picking fruit with basket. Farmer Brown walks with key in hand towards potential honey buyer arriving in a surrey, ready to unlock the honey shed to make a big sale. (Our interpretation) It is in the Bygone Collection. We love it. You will too. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Image size: 20" X 16" Mounted on wooden stretcher. (will fit into a 16"x 20" frame)
